Three updates for you:

1. I “temporarily” have taken the Frostbite of the Heart EP down from the site. I hope it will be back up at some point in the future, but for mysterious purposes of my own, its spot on the internet must now remain vacant. Stay tuned…?

2. I’m going to embark on the journey of my third Facebook application soon. Just pre-planning for now, but I’m excited. It’ll be fun. Oh, yes it will, yes it will. You will like it. Yes you will. I guarantee.

3. For those who know what it means something to, the next update will arrive in a banana suit.

Oh, and just some fourth thing(s) that occur to me, if I’m doing this whole blogging my life thing; I made an order from amazon today of two things I’m really looking forward to - the “Reinhold Messner” transcription book and ”Compass Rose Boquet” by Great Lakes Myth Society, a completely unknown but awesome band from Michigan. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. 

Oh, and a fifth thing I guess. I’ll just comment that I bought Half-Life during Valve’s crazy 98 cent sale (because it was the game’s 10th birthday, from 1998). I’m almost done with it, and I must say that it truly stands up to the test of time. Not like some games like Wolfenstein, which I feel you need to view through the lense of the times, but I feel that the innovative story-telling, creative level design, and just overall fun gameplay really do keep the game fun under a modern context. And playing through it only makes me more excited for Black Mesa, the Source mod of the game that will be free for anyone with a Source game in Steam when it comes out (soon).

Part I:

I’ve just added 6 new tracks to the music page from various sources, including the ever-popular “I Want to Love You” (Radio edit, sorry to some) as well as the award-winning “Ted E. Bear’s Mafia-Free Playland and Casino A Capella” cover. I also copied all the mp3s from all of the band pages onto the main music page for easy access. Che-ya. Chega-chega-check it out.

1. I learned this weekend how to make Facebook applications (essentially I had to teach myself PHP and SQL, which is quite mentally draining). It’s called “MyCast”, and it lets you ask the question - “If a movie was made about my life, which famous celebrities would I choose to cast as any of my Facebook friends?” and it answers the question “If my Facebook friends all had movies made about their lives, which famous celebreties would the cast as me?” (credit to Derek for first coming up with this idea). You can download the application that I made to your Facebook profile here.

2. I took the liberty to upload another East Carolina track for you to listen to. It’s a demo of an instrumental that Stu and I wrote a while ago called “Abacadaba” (which is simply the form of the piece, a rondo of sorts). It’s me on accordion and clarinet (which I had only started playing two week prior to the recording, so I took the fact that I only had one bad note as pretty good) and Stu on acoustic guitar.

3. You should know that I am only doing this for myself.

The good news is that I’m learning how to turn my java code into applets, so hopefully I’ll put up some of those soon. Also, I’m touching up some tracks that I’m going to try to SELL, that’s right, SELL on this site if I can work out the e-commerce app.
